Residential Testimonials
"We love what your paint has done for our back bedroom. It was not insulated and remained hot in the summer even with two a/c vents blowing into the room. Now, it remains 72 degrees when the sun is beating down on the roof and the outside temp registers 106 degrees! Amazing!" Mary McLerran "Being a civil-engineer working in the environmental field I was naturally skeptical when I stumbled upon the nano-tech website. I was looking for duct insulation for my home and instead I feel as though I found the "holy grail." I have limited time but have been applying HomeProtect ClearCoat to my finished attic , wood exterior doors, and a couple of old skylights and windows. The last three months (May, June, July), I have used 40%, 40%, and 50% of the electricity I used last year during the same months. This is our hottest time of the year. The window over my tub does that I coated, not condensate during showers as it is no longer a The other day, I left out of town for work so I turned off my air conditioning before I left. The highs while gone were in the 80s with 90% humidity. I was amazed after returning home when I went upstairs in the finished off attic to find it cooler than the main floor. What amazed me more was when I remembered that the air conditioning was off and had been for 2 days. Dave "FYI I am in the end stages of building a 4000 sq ft house which is why I stumbled on the nanotech in the first place. When I saw the possibilities, I knew if it really worked it would revolutionize the insulation industry; and I was waiting for the real test and that was the first heating bill for the coldest month of the year, and it was $43.00. I am heating this house with one 5ton heat pump unit. Something the heat and air people told me I could not do. I was ecstatic when I saw that bill. I can now really believe in it, because I know it works." Best Regards, Rosemarie Patterson, Seligman, MO
Products used: Nansulate Translucent GP, NanoPrime Application: "On copper hot water pipe, on the interior of the galvanized pool walls, on the bathroom waste pipe where it is exposed as it penetrates the exterior wall and is above grade and freeze line." How Nansulate™ Helped: "I was able to insulate the inside of the galvanized pool walls and the concrete bottom prior to installing the liner as opposed to using a rigid foam insulation glued to the outside of the walls. This process gets the insulation at the source of heat loss instead of on the opposite side which would allow heat transfer via the exposed and uninsulatable wall areas. Sam Bittinger Product used: Nansulate Translucent GP Application: "My wife breeds and shows rabbit as a hobby - your product How Nansulate™ Helped: "Rabbits have little tolerance for high heat and keeping them cool during the summer months can be a major challenge. The building was noticeably cooler during the last heat wave which included record high temperatures." Tim Elliott Application: "On an 1800 s.f. second story ceiling immediately below the attic - also along the borders of north-facing windows. NOW earlier this summer I had our company (Arden) paint our lab facility in Sanford, NC with both primer and GP. Again, we're going to find out this winter if it keeps that room a little warmer. But I have told tons of people at Arden about it, and written an article for the company internal web site - which I'd be happy to share with you. I've also told dozens of other people about it - parents of our kids' friends, relatives, my son's 6th grade science teacher (she wants to try it on her 2nd story addition), and everybody at a Zingerman's business seminar in Ann Arbor...In fact, I'm going to email everybody your website now that I've seen that this really does work for myself (read below)" How it Helped: "Well, I just put it up yesterday, so I don't know the impact yet on our use of natural gas for the coming winter BUT...I tested in on our hot water heater this weekend, painting part of the vent pipe coming out of the heater. I realize it takes 30-60 days to cure, but there was an IMMEDIATE difference in temp. between the part of the pipe I coated and the part I hadn't. AMAZING! I could NOT touch the uncoated pipe. I COULD touch the coated pipe. I measured with a digital thermometer and there appeared to be a 10-20F difference." Other Comments: "Though the results aren't in yet, I am thrilled already. The heat test on my water heater PROVED that this really does insulate! I was also delighted with HOW EASY it was to coat my 2nd story ceiling yesterday. I had called professional painters to quote doing the job. Then I went to Lowe's and bought $200 worth of wall coverings, drop cloths, rollers and all kinds of painbt stuff and spent 45 minutes taping off a bathroom.l As I was painting I realized that because the viscosity of Nansulate is a little on the thick side, it really doesn't drop much. So I simply started doing the rest o the 2nd story WITHOUT all the drop cloths. I didn't need it! In the end, all I really did was swab off the ceilings with a big mop, then roll on Nansulate with an extended length roller. I never even needed a ladder. I had everything done in three hours. I saved on hiring a painter and am going to return $150 worth of stuff to Lowe's today. I would be DELIGHTED by the way to speak or write more on behalf of your product about my experience already OR after I see the impact on our natural gas usage this winter. CONGRATULATIONS on a fascinating, really cool Product!!!" Emmon Scott, Arden Companies, Southfield, MI Product Used: Nansulate Translucent GP Application: “This application included three projects. I applied four coats of GP on the copper pipe coming out of our tankless water heater. Two months after the application, the pipe feels warm instead of hot to the touch when we run the water. It also cuts the time for warm water to get to a faucet if we have run it recently, because water stays warm in the pipes longer than before. I also applied GP to the hot air ducts that come out of our furnace. Our furnace room is vented to the outside, so warmth in the ducts would escape into the room between each furnace run, and the fan would blow the cold air into the house every time the furnace came on. Two months after applying Nansulate GP to the ducts, there is no initial blast of cold air from the vents when the furnace kicks on, unless the system has not run for several hours. Application in this project was easy and appears to be durable. The third project was applying three coats of GP to the north and east facing walls of the outside of my brick house. I applied it to the outside of my brick wall because insulation applied outside allows us to take advantage of the thermal mass of the brick, hopefully slowing down the response of the interior temperature to big temperature swings outside. Application in this case was not very easy, because I had to apply it to the mortar gap between the bricks as well as to the bricks. Over a month after the application (now December), the interior walls are noticeably warmer within the coated walls than inside uncoated walls. I will not know for sure the extent of any energy savings for several months, but our November natural gas usage was smaller than last year although the weather was similar.“ Paul Roundy, Colorado Application: "I recently re-roofed my bungalow style house and added a skylight, ridge vents and soffit vents for a good ventilating air flow from the eaves to the peak. Inside I removed the old ceiling and attic insulation opening up part of the house with a "cathedral" ceiling and making a sleeping/ storage loft over the rest. I sheathed the inside of the roof rafters with furniture grade birch plywood and sealed this with translucent Nansulate GP." How Nansulate™ Helped: “This allowed me to maintain maximum ventilation for the roof ( as opposed to the foam air channel attachment were I to use traditional pink insulation) with an easier application and also maximizing the beauty of the birch wood grain . Having added a good amount of cubic space to the house, I am incredibly impressed with the insulation effects I witnessed just last night when we had our first frost here on long island and I was able to maintain an inside temperature of 68 degrees F (20C)with only a small woodstove. The boiler never turned on and it was set at 65 degrees F (18C).” Roy Kortick, artist, New York
